MUMBAI, Feb 16 (Reuters) -
STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 44.42 points, or 0.07%,
to 61,319.51, while the broader NSE index gained 20
points, or 0.11%, to 18,035.85, helped by information technology
stocks, as robust U.S. retail sales data underscored the
strength in the world's biggest economy and bolstered risk
appetite. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.11% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 82.70 per dollar, as the dollar index
cooled and Asian shares advanced. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.44
rupees, with yield down 1 bps at 7.3426% vs previous close of
7.3484%, ahead of debt supply on Friday. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
5 bps at 6.85%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 1 bps to 6.44%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 10 bps at
6.20% against 6.30% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.27%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.2518%.
