GLOBAL MARKETS Asian shares were hesitant on Monday as a U.S. holiday made for slow trading ahead of minutes of the last Federal Reserve meeting and a reading on core inflation that could add to the risk of interest rates heading higher for longer. Geopolitical tensions were ever present with North Korea firing more missiles and talk of Russia ramping up attacks in Ukraine before Friday's one- year anniversary of the invasion. U.S. VISIT U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday announced further aid to Turkey and said Washington would provide longer term help to Ankara as it seeks to rebuild following this month's earthquake. Blinken will hold a joints news conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at the presidential palace in Ankara (0630 GMT). OSCE VISIT North Macedonia Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid visit Turkey and hold a news conference with Cavusoglu (1130 GMT).
CONSUMER CONFIDENCE The Turkish Statistical Institute will release consumer confidence data for February (0700 GMT). DEBT STOCK The Treasury will announce debt stock data for January (1430 GMT). OPPOSITION PARTIES Kemal Kilicdaroglu, leader of the main opposition People's Republican Party (CHP), chairs a meeting of the party's central executive committee (1000 GMT). IYI Party leader Meral Aksener visits earthquake victims in the southeastern city of Diyarbakir (1215 GMT).
