Feb 23 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 2230 GMT on
Thursday:
** South Africa's plan to partially privatize its national
airline, South African Airways, is in trouble because the
country's competition regulator may not approve the deal,
Semafor reported on Thursday, citing three people familiar with
the matter.
** Iberia-owner International Airlines Group has
agreed to pay 400 million euros ($423.84 million) to Spain's
Globalia for the remaining 80% of airline Air Europa it did not
already own, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
** The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and New
York's top financial regulator have opposed crypto exchange
Binance.US's $1 billion deal to buy bankrupt crypto lender
Voyager, the latest in a string of U.S. regulatory moves against
crypto firms.
** Fnac Darty's shares surged on Thursday after a
media report said that Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky would
be ready to buy the 24% stake in the company held by top
shareholder Ceconomy , a German electronics retailer.
** Humana Inc will exit the employer-based insurance
business over the next 18 to 24 months, it said on Thursday, to
focus primarily on government-backed programs such as Medicare
for people aged 65 and older and its specialty businesses.
** Telefonica supports the merger of its two
smaller Spanish rivals MasMovil and the local unit of France's
