STOCKHOLM, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Sweden's government will run a budget deficit this year and next, with bigger financing needs being met by larger issuance of government bonds and treasury bills, Sweden's Debt Office said on Thursday.

"The central government budget balance is weaker than in the previous forecast, and for both 2023 and 2024 the Debt Office now expects a deficit instead of a surplus," it said in a statement.

"The forecast change is largely due to temporary factors such as changed flows to and from (power grid operator) Svenska Kraftnat, but also to lower tax income and higher expenditure." (Reporting by Simon Johnson, editing by Anna Ringstrom)
