STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 66.89 points, or 0.11%,
to 59,355.24, while the broader NSE index gained 20.95
points, or 0.12%, to 17,413.65, tracking gains in Asian shares
ahead of domestic GDP data for the December quarter. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.19% to 82.68 per
dollar, as a pullback in the dollar index allowed risk assets to
recover slightly. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 98.83
rupees, with yield down 2 bps at 7.4345%, amid value buying from
investors after yields jumped to a four-month high. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
2 bps at 7.01%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 3 bps to 6.65%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.65% against 6.65% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.61%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.6372%.
