GLOBAL MARKETS Asian shares nudged higher on Tuesday, tracking small gains on Wall Street, while the U.S. dollar paused after a sharp rally as month-end flows lift sentiment and investors adjust to expectations of more interest rate hikes.
GDP The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce gross domestic product (GDP) data for 2022, with a Reuters poll forecasting that the economy expanded 5.2% last year and that growth will slow to 2.8% this year.
EARTHQUAKE An earthquake shook southeast Turkey on Monday, killing one person, injuring 110 and causing 29 buildings to collapse, Turkish authorities said, triggering frantic work to rescue several people believed trapped in rubble. The two major earthquakes which hit Turkey on Feb. 6 caused about $34.2 billion in direct physical damage, but total reconstruction and recovery costs facing the country could be twice as high, the World Bank said on Monday.
PARTY MEETINGS The government allied, nationalist MHP (0745 GMT), the pro-Kurdish HDP (0945 GMT) and the main opposition CHP (1030 GMT) will hold their regular parliamentary group meetings.
PARLIAMENT AGENDA Parliament's general assembly will debate a social security bill enabling people to retire earlier (1200 GMT).
EGYPTIAN MINISTER'S VISIT Egypt's foreign minister met Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday in the first visits to Syria and Turkey by a top Egyptian diplomat in a decade.
