BUCHAREST, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Romania ran a consolidated
budget deficit of 0.25% of gross domestic product in January,
compared with a shortfall of 0.13% in the same month of last
year, finance ministry data showed on Tuesday.
In nominal terms, the deficit stood at 4.01 billion lei
($863.87 million). Revenues amounted to 39.6 billion lei, or
2.5% of GDP. Spending stood at 43.6 billion lei. Investment
spending, including EU funds, stood at 1.94 billion lei.
The European Union state ran a deficit of 5.68% of GDP last
year. It targets a shortfall of 4.4% this year.
