STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 379.62 points, or 0.64%,
to 59,341.74, poised to snap an eight-day losing run. Adani
Enterprises, Hindalco and Axis Bank were the top performers. The
broader NSE index advanced 115.9 points, or 0.67%, to
17,419.85. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened about 0.1% to the U.S.
dollar to 82.62, tracking the Chinese yuan-led rally on Asian
currencies. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 98.68
rupees, with yield down 1 bps at 7.4563% on value buying amid
thin trading volumes. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
1 bps at 7.01%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 3 bps to 6.65%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 30 bps at
6.30% against 6.60% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.29%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.5995%.
