MUMBAI, March 3 (Reuters) -


STOCKS: The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 542.22 points, or 0.92%, to 59,451.57, while the broader NSE index gained 141.2 points, or 0.82%, to 17,463.1, after U.S. investment firm GQG Partners' almost-$2 billion investment in Adani stocks lifted sentiment. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.36% versus the U.S. dollar, and quoted at 82.31 per dollar, as Asian currencies gained and as traders cited potential dollar inflows. GOVERNMENT BONDS: Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 98.87 rupees, with yield down 1 bps at 7.4277%, on value purchase from investors especially in the longer part of the bond yield curve, as central government's debt supply ends for this fiscal. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS: The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was unchanged at 7.03%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 1 bps to 6.63%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at 6.30% against 6.30% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.25%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.2350%. (Reporting by Anushka Trivedi)
