NAIROBI, March 3 (Reuters) - Kenya's shilling dropped
against the dollar on Friday on the back of scattered
foreign-currency demand from several sectors particularly
manufacturing, traders said.
At 0852 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at
127.60/80 per U.S. dollar, compared with 127.30/50 at the close
of trade on Thursday.
The shilling hit a new record low of 127.90/128.10 early on
Friday before recovering some of its losses, according to
Refinitiv data.
The local unit has shed 3.4% against the greenback since the
start of the year.
