STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 558.93 points, or 0.93%,
to 60,367.9, tracking Friday's rally on U.S. equities that was
helped by a pullback in U.S. yields. The broader NSE index rose 177.75 points, or 1.01%, to 17,772.1. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.16% to 81.83 per U.S.
dollar, tracking the uptick in its Asian peers. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
the benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.06
rupees, with the yield down 2 bps at 7.3992%, tracking the fall
in the same maturity U.S. yield to below 4%. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
5 bps at 6.96%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 6 bps to 6.55%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 65 bps at
6.35%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.25%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.2345%.
