STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 415.49 points, or 0.69%,
to 60,224.46, while the broader NSE index gained 114.3
points, or 0.65%, to 17,708.65, after strong economic data from
the United States and investment in the Adani group of companies
boosted risk appetite. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.07% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 81.91 per dollar, attempting to build on
recent gains as U.S. Treasury yields cooled and domestic
equities rallied. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 98.97
rupees, with yield unchanged at 7.4127%, as traders await fresh
triggers, while trading volumes were shallow ahead of a holiday. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
3 bps at 6.98%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 3 bps to 6.58%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 60 bps at
6.30% against 5.70% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.29%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.2345%.
