GLOBAL MARKETS Asian financial markets were little changed on Tuesday as investors awaited congressional testimony from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell due to start later in the day for clues on the central bank's next move on interest rates.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME President Tayyip Erdogan will hold talks with Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio (1100 GMT). He will then host Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and after talks they will hold a joint news conference (1445 GMT).
OPPOSITION PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE Opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu emerged on Monday as the main challenger to Erdogan in landmark elections expected on May 14, after a six-party alliance picked him as expected as its presidential candidate.
PRO-KURDISH OPPOSITION Turkey's pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) may support main opposition leader Kilicdaroglu in May 14 presidential election after "clear, open talks", party co-leader Mithat Sancar said on Monday.
PARLIAMENT MEETINGS The government-allied nationalist MHP (0745 GMT), the pro-Kurdish HDP (0945 GMT) and the main opposition CHP (1030 GMT) will hold their parliamentary group meetings.
TREASURY AUCTION The Treasury will issue a new 5-year TLREF indexed bond maturing on March 1, 2028. It will also issue to banks through the direct sale method a 10-year sukuk maturing on Feb. 23, 2033.
U.S. AMBASSADOR SUMMONED Turkey on Monday summoned U.S. ambassador Jeff Flake to convey its discomfort about a top U.S. general visiting northeast Syria over the weekend, a foreign ministry source said.
TREASURY CASH BALANCE The Treasury will release its cash balance data for February (1430 GMT).
