HOUSTON, March 8 (Reuters) - U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said on Wednesday any further releases from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve would be due to disruptions like the the war in Ukraine, which led the Biden Adminstration to open the nation's emergency crude supplies.

"The SPR was released, the 180 million barrels, was because of the war," Granholm said on the sidelines of the CERAWeek energy conference in Houston. "There has to be a situation like that that would generate interest in doing it. It's not just about increases in prices, it really is about an emergency disruption."
