TOKYO, March 10 (Reuters) - Japan must discuss the
handling of the 2013 joint statement between the government and
the Bank of Japan with the new central bank governor, Tokyo's
top spokesperson said on Friday.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told a press
conference that it was too early to comment on the future course
of the joint policy accord, when asked about it after the
confirmation of academic Kazuo Ueda as the new BOJ governor.
Earlier on Friday, Japan's finance minister said he
expected the central bank to guide policy appropriately in close
coordination with the government, taking economy, prices and
financial conditions into account. (Reporting by Kantaro Komiya
