WARSAW, March 9 - The following are news stories, press reports and events that may affect Poland's financial markets on Friday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland: GMT + 1 hour):


INTEREST RATES Polish central bank governor Adam Glapinski will give a press conference at 1400 GMT. The National Bank of Poland (NBP) on Wednesday slightly lowered its inflation forecasts for the coming three years, reinforcing expectations that interest rates will remain at current levels after it left them unchanged for a sixth consecutive month. PKN ORLEN Poland's PKN Orlen analyzes everything that can be a good deal, provided that there is the right partner for the business, the company's Chief Executive Officer Danie Obajtek said asked whether the company could buy shares in German refinery Schwedt, Puls Biznesu daily reported.


PKN Orlen plans to announce the location of its first small nuclear reactor (SMR) in April, Obajtek also said.


UTILITIES Poland plans to spin off state-owned utilities' coal-fired power plants to a new state-owned company, NABE, by the end of April, Parkiet daily reported adding that talks are underway with banks that are to take on part of the financing of the process.
