MUMBAI, March 9 (Reuters) -
STOCKS: The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 279.88 points, or 0.46%, to 60,068.21, while the broader NSE index lost 95.15 points, or 0.54%, to 17,659.25, as concerns of a prolonged high-interest rate regime weighed on sentiment. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.12% versus the U.S. dollar, and quoted at 81.97 per dollar, on likely custodial inflows, traders said. GOVERNMENT BONDS: Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 98.71 rupees, with yield unchanged at 7.4517% vs previous close of 7.4547%, as traders await fresh triggers. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS: The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down 1 bps at 7.09%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 1 bps to 6.69%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 5 bps at 6.35% against 6.30% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.25%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.3092%. (Reporting by Dharamraj Dhutia)
