NAIROBI, March 13 (Reuters) - The following company announcements, scheduled economic indicators, debt and currency market moves and political events may affect African markets on Monday. - - - - - GLOBAL MARKETS U.S. stock futures rallied in Asian trade on Monday as authorities announced plans to limit the fallout from the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), while investors wagered a rate hike this month was no longer a certainty. WORLD OIL PRICES Oil prices slipped in Monday Asian morning trade as concerns about possible further U.S. interest rate hikes continue to rattle investors, though a recovery in Chinese demand and a weaker dollar provided some support. Shares on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange fell on Friday as a sell-off in banking stocks globally drove investors away from riskier assets and following mixed U.S. jobs data.


KENYA MARKETS


Kenya's shilling KES= lost more ground against the dollar on Friday, pushed by demand from the energy sector and general goods importers, traders said.


CONGO SECURITY


Suspected Islamist militants killed at least 19 people and burned a medical facility in a raid on a village in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo early on Sunday morning, two regional officials and a resident said.


STORM FREDDY


Cyclone Freddy displaced hundreds of people as it battered central Mozambique on Sunday after making landfall for a second time in a month, breaking records for the duration and strength of tropical storms in the southern hemisphere.


MADAGASCAR DISASTER


Twenty two people died when a boat carrying them off Madagascar capsized while they attempted to sail to the French island of Mayotte, Madagascar's port authority said on Sunday.


MAURITANIA SECURITY


Three escaped detainees in Mauritania have been killed and one other detained after a shootout with security forces, the Mauritanian authorities said on Saturday.


KENYA CENBANK


Kenya's President William Ruto has appointed Susan Koech, a career banker who has also worked in top government posts, to be the second deputy governor of the central bank, his spokesperson said.
