STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex was down 468.54 points, or
0.79%, at 58,666.59, while the broader NSE index was
down 136.35 points, or 0.78%, at 17,276.55, as risk sentiment
weakened. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.16% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 81.92 per dollar, in line with its Asian
peers, but was off its opening highs on dollar demand from
importers and speculators. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.20
rupees, with the yield down 5 bps at 7.3781%, tracking the
decline in U.S. yields. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
13 bps at 6.87%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 12 bps to 6.44%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 5 bps at
6.25%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.17%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.2444%.
