GLOBAL MARKETS U.S. stock futures rallied in Asian trade on Monday as authorities announced plans to limit the fallout from the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), while investors wagered a rate hike this month was no longer a certainty. The dollar slid as Goldman Sachs predicted the U.S. Federal Reserve would no longer lift interest rates next week, capping the biggest rally for short-dated Treasuries since 1987.
CURRENT ACCOUNT DATA The central bank will release current account data for January (0700 GMT). According to a Reuters poll, the deficit was expected to be $10 billion in January, driven by gold imports. The 2023 deficit was forecast to be $43.5 billion.
MAIN OPPOSITION Kemal Kilicdaroglu, head of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), will chair a meeting of the party's central executive committee (1100 GMT).
RULING AK PARTY
Ali Ihsan Yavuz, a deputy leader of President Tayyip Erdogan's AK Party, will hold a news conference at party headquarters (0700 GMT).
FOREIGN MINISTER Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will hold a news conference with his Mongolian counterpart Batmunkh Battsetseg (0845 GMT).
BLACK SEA GRAIN DEAL Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said on Sunday he believed that a deal allowing Ukrainian grain to be exported via the Black Sea will be extended from its current March 18 deadline. MIGRANTS DROWN Five migrants died when a dinghy sank off the coast of southwest Turkey on Saturday, the coastguard said, adding that it had rescued 11 people, while Greece said five more migrants from the same wreck were found on a nearby island.
