STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 72.9 points, or 0.1%, to
58,310.74, recovery slightly following a 3.5% slide over the
last three session. The broader NSE index inched up to
17,162.10. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee weakened 0.30% to 82.38 to the dollar
ahead of the important U.S. retail inflation data. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.39
rupees, with yield down 1 bps at 7.3504%, on back of the
overnight decline on U.S. yields. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
4 bps at 6.77%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 3 bps to 6.33%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 20 bps at
6.35% against 6.15% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.20%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.2285%.
