GLOBAL MARKETS Asia's share markets slid on Tuesday, with Japan's financial stocks leading losses as fear of a U.S. banking crisis gripped investors ahead of crucial inflation data due later in the day. Fallout from the collapse of U.S. lenders Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank widened overnight, despite government efforts to shore up confidence. Heavy selling hit U.S. regional bank stocks and traders raced headlong from bets on U.S. rate hikes, reckoning the Fed would now be thinking twice.
OPPOSITION PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE Kemal Kilicdaroglu, head of the main opposition CHP and presidential candidate, will visit places in the earthquake-hit province of Hatay (0930 GMT).
PRO-KURDISH OPPOSITION The pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) will hold its parliamentary group meeting (0945 GMT).
BLACK SEA GRAIN DEAL Russia on Monday suggested renewing a deal allowing the safe export of grain from Ukraine's Black Sea ports but only for half the term of the previous renewal while the United Nations pledged to do everything possible to ensure the agreement's integrity remained intact.
CULTURE AND TOURISM MINISTER Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy will attend a meeting at the quake-hit Hatay archaeology museum and then hold a news conference (1030 GMT).
EARTHQUAKE DEATH TOLL The death toll in Turkey from last month's major earthquakes has risen to 48,448, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said on Monday, as authorities rush to set up container cities to house for the longer-term those left homeless by the disaster.
