STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 332.61 points, or 0.57%,
to 57,567.58, while the broader NSE index lost 98.3
points, or 0.57%, to 16945.20, dragged by financials stocks as
European markets slumped in a risk-off environment. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee was down 0.12% at 82.5950 as the
greenback got a boost amid tepid risk sentiment. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.19
rupees, with yield unchanged at 7.3796%, as elevated inflation
brought back focus on interest rate hikes by the U.S. and Indian
central banks in coming days. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was up 2
bps at 6.76%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 1 bps to 6.35%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 5 bps at
6.35% against 6.30% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.25%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.1833%.
