CHINA Chinese refineries processed 3.3% more crude oil in the first two months of 2023 compared with a year earlier, data showed on Wednesday, spurred by fuel export policy and as independent refiners process more in response to improving margins. Crude throughput in the January-February period reached 116.07 million tonnes, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed, equivalent to 14.36 million barrels per day (bpd). That compared with 13.98 million bpd the same period a year earlier and 14.1 million bpd in December.

NEWS Oil storage demand and transit volumes are poised to grow further at the United Arab Emirates' Fujairah port this year as Russian trade flows continue to flood the hub, while latest price caps on Russian petroleum products have a mild impact on trade, industry executives said on Tuesday. Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiisk resumed oil loadings on March 14 after a storm, two trading sources said on Tuesday. Tengizchevroil (TCO) restored oil output on its Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan to normal levels after a fall during unscheduled maintenance early in March, a company representative told Reuters in an email on Wednesday.
