STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 334.14 points, or 0.58%,
to 58,234.33, tracking an overnight recovery on U.S. equities
following in-line U.S. inflation data. The broader NSE index advanced 108.5 points, or 0.64%, to 17,151.8. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.15% versus the U.S.
dollar to 82.38, helped by the improved risk mood. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.19
rupees, with yield unchanged at 7.3796%. Focus on Federal
Reserve meeting next week and RBI policy decision on April
6. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was up 2
bps at 6.76%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 1 bps to 6.35%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 5 bps at
6.35% against 6.30% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.29%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.1833%.
