Turkey - Factors to Watch on March 15

ISTANBUL, March 15 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday. The lira stood at 18.9800 against the dollar at 0431 GMT, little changed from its close of 18.9745 on Tuesday. The main BIST 100 share index closed 2.18% lower at 5,207.32 points on Tuesday.


GLOBAL MARKETS Asian equities rose sharply on Wednesday, tracking a relief rally on Wall Street and as U.S. inflation data delivered no nasty surprises, reinforcing hopes the Federal Reserve will likely go for a smaller rate hike when it meets next week.


ERDOGAN President Tayyip Erdogan will speak at a parliamentary meeting of his AK Party (0900 GMT). He will then meet with Uzbekistani President Shavkat Mirziyoyev (1430 GMT), Azerbaijani President Ilam Aliyev (1645 GMT), and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban (1745 GMT) in Ankara.


IYI PARTY The nationalist opposition IYI Party will hold its regular parliamentary group meeting (0730 GMT).


HOUSE SALES The Turkish Statistical Institute will release house sale data for February (0700 GMT).


BUDGET The Treasury will announce budget balance data for February (0800 GMT).


SAUDI ARABIA A deposit of $5 billion from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) entered the accounts of the Turkish Central Bank on Monday, bankers said on Tuesday.


GRAIN DEAL Talks continue to extend a deal to allow grain shipments from Ukraine's Black Sea ports ahead of a deadline later this week, the United Nations and Turkey said on Tuesday, after Kyiv rejected a Russian push for a reduced 60-day renewal.


SUNEXPRESS SunExpress, a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa , said on Tuesday that summer bookings to Turkey spiked as of this month after a brief drop following February's devastating earthquakes.


NATO Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said on Tuesday that the likelihood that Finland joins the NATO military alliance before Sweden had increased, though Swedish membership was only a matter of time.
