Hong Kong shares of Baidu to open 7.9% higher

SHANGHAI, March 17 (Reuters) - Hong Kong-listed shares in Chinese search engine giant Baidu were set to open 7.9% higher on Friday, clawing back losses suffered a day earlier after the launch of its artificial intelligence-powered Ernie bot disappointed.


Other tech companies also rebounded, with the Hang Seng Tech Index up more than 2% in early morning trade, tracking Wall Street higher overnight.
