GLOBAL MARKETS Asian stocks slid on Thursday and investors turned to the safety of gold, bonds and dollars as Credit Suisse became the latest focal point for fears of a banking crisis, leaving markets on edge ahead of a European Central Bank meeting later in the day.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME President Tayyip Erdogan will attend an extraordinary summit of the Organisation of Turkic States in Ankara (0900 GMT). He will hold separate talks with the Kazakh president (0800 GMT), the Turkmenistan leader (1345 GMT) and the Hungarian prime minister (1445 GMT).
FINNISH PRESIDENT Finnish President Sauli Niinisto visits Turkey and is expected to travel to the region hit by last month's earthquakes. On Friday, he is expected to hold talks with President Erdogan amid expectations that the Turkish parliament will ratify Finland's NATO accession bid before it goes into pre-election recess in mid-April.
BLACK SEA GRAIN DEAL Turkey will continue discussions to extend a deal that allows grain shipments from Ukraine's Black Sea ports for 120 days rather than 60 days, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said on Wednesday.
CENTRAL BANK WEEKLY DATA The central bank will release its weekly data, including on foreign currency reserves (1130 GMT).
