Europe is looking at Baku and other gas suppliers to help to fill a void in its gas supplies after it moved to cut imports of gas from Russia, previously the bloc's main energy supplier. Azerbaijan exported a total of 22.3 bcm of gas in 2022 - 11.4 bcm to Europe. President Ilham Aliyev said in December Azerbaijan plans to boost gas exports to 24 bcm this year, with "at least" 11.6 bcm going to Europe. The country's oil output during the first two months of the year was 5.1 million tonnes, down from 5.4 million tonnes in the same period last year, the energy ministry said. BAKU, March 16 (Reuters) - Azerbaijan's gas exports
increased by 13% in the first two months of the year to 4.3
billion cubic metres (bcm), the country's energy minister said
on Thursday.
Exports to Europe during January and February 2023 totalled
1.9 bcm, up from 1.8 bcm during the same period last year, the
energy ministry said.
