STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 47.57 points, or 0.08%,
to 57,587.27, while the broader NSE index lost 8.05
points, or 0.05%, to 16,977.55, amid jitters over a global
banking turmoil. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.26% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 82.52 per dollar, tracking broad dollar
decline on improved risk appetite. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.28
rupees, with yield up 1 bps at 7.3660% vs previous close of
7.3526%, tracking rise in U.S. yields. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was up 1
bps at 6.72%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate stayed fixed to 6.30%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was up 10 bps at
6.60% against 6.50% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.75%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.6114%.
