FRANKFURT, March 20 (Reuters) - European banks should
prepare for slower economic growth, higher funding costs and
lower lending volumes, European Central Bank President Christine
Lagarde said on Monday.
"Individual financial institutions should carefully preserve
their current levels of resilience, to ensure that they could
weather a potentially less favourable environment," Lagarde told
European lawmakers.
She was speaking as the chair of the European Systemic Risk
Board (ESRB) and largely repeating the content of the ESRB's
September report.
