South Korea closely watching markets situation over banking sector worries

SEOUL, March 21 (Reuters) - South Korea is closely watching the situation in global financial markets as volatility has increased over concerns about the banking sector, Minister for Trade Ahn Duk-geun said while presiding over a meeting on exports.


"The government is closely watching the situation as volatility on global markets has increased in relation to the failure of Silicon Valley Bank and the liquidity crisis at Credit Suisse," a ministry statement quoted Ahn as saying.
