BERLIN, March 21 (Reuters) - Germany is considering
export restrictions to China similar to those already in place
in the United States, Economy Minister Robert Habeck told the
Frankfurter Allegemeine Zeitung newspaper.
"We have to prevent losing our technology leadership because
we don't look closely," he told the Wednesday edition of the
paper, adding: "Export controls shouldn't exist everywhere, but
in certain critical sectors, we should become stricter."
While it wouldn't be possible to simply remove components
made by Chinese company Huawei from Germany's 5G
network, in future, "we should do without it," he said.
