GLOBAL MARKETS Asian stocks were lifted from lows on Tuesday, with the rescue of Credit Suisse stemming selling in bank shares, though the mood was fragile and the stress in markets had traders wondering whether U.S. rate hikes might be finished.
ERDOGAN Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani to discuss energy, Kurdish militants and trade among other issues. They will later hold a joint news conference (1445 GMT).
BOND AUCTIONS Turkey's Treasury will tap a 5-year fixed-coupon bond and a 10-year CPI-indexed bond in auctions.
SIMSEK Turkey's former deputy prime minister in charge of the economy, Mehmet Simsek, said on Monday that he is not interested in active politics, while the AK Party said President Tayyip Erdogan had not offered him a post when they met.
EARTHQUAKE Donors at a European Union-led conference on Monday pledged 7 billion euros ($7.5 billion) to help to rebuild Turkey after last month's devastating earthquakes, while Ankara estimated the costs at more than ten times that. The European Union's lending arm, the European Investment Bank, is to temporarily override its near 4-year long ban on financing in Turkey to provide 500 million euros ($540 million) for the country's post-earthquake rebuilding efforts.
FOREX REPORTS Turkey's central bank said on Monday it will require lenders to submit monthly forex position reports on corporates that have outstanding loans of 5 million lira ($263,002.86) or more.
