ISTANBUL, March 23 (Reuters) - Turkey's consumer
confidence index fell 2.9% to 80.1 points in March, official
data showed on Thursday, following the earthquakes that killed
more than 48,000 in the country.
A confidence level below 100 reflects a pessimistic outlook,
while a reading above 100 indicates optimism, according to the
data from the Turkish Statistics Institute.
The surveys for the data were not conducted in seven
earthquake impacted provinces, the statistics institute said.
