March 24 (Reuters) - Richmond Federal Reserve Bank
President Thomas Barkin said on Friday that he did not have
second thoughts about the U.S. central bank's decision last week
to raise its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points.
"Inflation is high. Demand hadn't seemed to come down. And
so, the case for raising was pretty clear," Barkin said in an
interview with CNN published on their website, as he downplayed
concerns about stresses in the banking sector.
