CREDIT SUISSE LAYOFFS


The merger between Credit Suisse and UBS could mean that some of the staff at service centres in Krakow, Wroclaw and Warsaw will lose their jobs. UBS employs about five thousand people in Poland, while Credit Suisse almost 5.6 thousand, Puls Biznesu reports.


ENERGY PRICES


Research conducted by Dun & Bradstreet in 18 countries shows that 60% of companies in Poland consider expensive energy a threat to their operations, Rzeczpospolita reports.


JERONIMO MARTINS Inflation is boosting sales at Biedronka, but margins are under significant pressure. The Portuguese owner of the store chain is considering expanding into Romania, Czechia and Slovakia, Puls Biznesu reports.
