ATHENS, March 27 (Reuters) - Greek private sector bank
deposits declined in February, for a second month in a row,
central bank data showed on Monday.
Business and household bank deposits decreased to 182.79
billion euros ($196.87 billion) at the end of February from
184.14 billion in January, Bank of Greece data showed.
Greek banks' deposit inflows have been rising for most of
2022. Since the lifting of COVID restrictions last year, the
Greek economy has recovered strongly thanks to robust tourism
revenues and improving consumer spending and investment.
However, soaring energy costs and inflation are eroding
household incomes, with the government projecting growth will
slow to about 2.3% this year from 5.9% in 2022.
