BUCHAREST, March 27 (Reuters) - Romania ran a
consolidated budget deficit of 1.07% of gross domestic product
in the first two months, compared with a shortfall of 0.25% at
end-January, finance ministry data showed on Monday.
In nominal terms, the deficit stood at 17.04 billion lei
($3.72 billion). Revenues amounted to 73.9 billion lei, or 4.6%
of GDP. Spending stood at 90.98 billion lei. Investment
spending, including EU funds, stood at 8.1 billion lei, up 85.8%
on the year.
The European Union state ran a deficit of 5.68% of GDP last
year. It targets a shortfall of 4.4% this year.
