STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 259.87 points, or 0.45%,
to 57,786.97, tracking the move higher on U.S. equity futures on
a report of a potential buyer for Silicon Valley. The broader
NSE index advanced 59.6 points, or 0.35%, to 17,004.65. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.2% versus the U.S.
dollar to 82.29, helped by the improved risk mood and
expectations of inflows. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.57
rupees, with yield up 1 bps at 7.3233% amid heavy state
borrowing schedule, traders said. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was up 2
bps at 6.69%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 2 bps to 6.20%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.70%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.62%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.5424%.
