STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 14.96 points, or 0.03%,
to 57,668.82, while the broader NSE index lost 33.25
points, or 0.20%, to 16,952.45, as caution about broader
economic challenges soured sentiment, while investors waited for
some key economic data due later in the week. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.17% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 82.23 per dollar, tracking gains in most
Asian peers. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 99.56
rupees, with yield up 2 bps at 7.3240%; vs previous close of
7.3035%, as traders await state debt auction result. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was
unchanged at 6.73%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate rose 1 bp to 6.23%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.70%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.70%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.6956%.
