JOHANNESBURG, March 28 (Reuters) - The following scheduled economic events, equity and currency market moves may affect South African markets on Tuesday.


ECONOMIC EVENTS Weekly bond auction by South Africa's Treasury


SOUTH AFRICAN MARKETS South African stocks rose on Monday on easing worries about banking system health in several developed markets, while the rand slipped. GLOBAL MARKETS Global stocks and U.S. bond yields rose on Tuesday, as a U.S. regulator-backed deal by First Citizens BancShares to buy failed Silicon Valley Bank soothed wider worries about problems in the sector. WALL STREET The S&P 500 ended slightly higher on Monday as a deal for Silicon Valley Bank's assets helped to boost bank shares, while a decline in technology-related stocks limited the day's gains. GOLD Gold prices rose on Tuesday as the dollar slipped, although an improvement in risk appetite after efforts by regulators to allay fears over the global banking system limited the safe-haven metal's appeal.
