ZURICH, March 30 (Reuters) - The Swiss National Bank's Vice Chairman defended the central bank's handling of Credit Suisse's liquidity crisis on Thursday in an interview with Swiss newspaper NZZ. "We were not too late with the measures," Martin Schlegel said because the bank's takeover by Credit Suisse was still possible. He said the authorities had been active regarding Credit Suisse for a long time. "Even my first meeting as SNB Vice-President in August 2022 revolved around Credit Suisse," Schlegel said.
