Turkey - Factors to Watch on March 30

ISTANBUL, March 30 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday. The lira traded at 19.1490 against the dollar at 0415 GMT, little changed from a close of 19.1550 on Wednesday. The main BIST 100 share index closed 2.74% higher at 4,943.18 points on Wednesday.


GLOBAL MARKETS Asian stocks rose on Thursday with fears easing on the banking front and the prospect of a break-up at Chinese conglomerate Alibaba offering an encouraging sign that Beijing's regulatory storm focused on tech companies might finally be clearing.


PARLIAMENT SET TO VOTE ON FINLAND NATO BID The Turkish parliament is expected to vote on Finland's bid to join NATO.


HUNGARY PRESIDENT Hungarian President Katalin Novak will hold talks with the speaker of parliament, Mustafa Sentop. (0815 GMT).


ERDOGAN CHAIRS MEETING President Tayyip Erdogan will chair a meeting of the National Security Council at the presidential palace (1200 GMT). A written statement is released after the monthly meeting.


PUTIN MAY VISIT TURKEY IN APRIL President Erdogan said on Wednesday his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin may visit Turkey on April 27 for the inauguration of the country's first nuclear power reactor built by Russia's state nuclear energy company Rosatom.


ECONOMIC CONFIDENCE The Turkish Statistics Institute will release economic confidence data for March (0700 GMT).


CENTRAL BANK MINUTES The Central Bank will release the minutes of its latest monetary policy committee meeting where it last week left its key rate on hold at 8.5%.


CENTRAL BANK DATA The Central Bank will release its weekly data on forex reserves and bond and forex holdings (1100 GMT).
