ROME, March 31 (Reuters) - The Bank of Italy will pay
some 3 billion euros into state coffers after it posted a
handsome profit in 2022, governor Ignazio Visco said on Friday.
The Bank of Italy results announced by Visco showed net
profit of 2.056 billion euros, of which 340 million will go in
dividends to its shareholders, made up of commercial lenders and
other financial institutions.
The bank will directly pay the state 1.676 billion euros of
its profits while the rest of the 3 billion euros will come in
the form of taxes.
