SANTIAGO, April 3 (Reuters) - Chile's IMACEC economic
activity index, a close proxy of gross domestic product (GDP),
dropped 0.5% in February from the same month last year, the
central bank said on Monday, well below market forecasts.
Economists polled by Reuters had expected a 0.1% increase on
a yearly basis.
When compared with the previous month, the IMACEC index fell
0.3%, the central bank added.
