La Stampa, Corriere della Sera and other newspapers reported on Monday that Meloni is insisting on naming Roberto Cingolani CEO of Leonardo and Stefano Donnarumma, currently CEO of Terna, as CEO of Enel, despite doubts from coalition allies.
ECONOMY (*) Italy plans to cut its 2024 economic growth forecast, government officials said. On the public finance front, Rome intends to confirm its 2023 budget deficit target, the officials added. COMPANIES (*) ENI Kazakhstan has started arbitration proceedings against companies developing its giant Kashagan and Karachaganak oilfields over $13 billion and $3.5 billion in deduced costs, respectively, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said on Tuesday. The offshore Kashagan field, one of the biggest discoveries in recent decades, is being developed by Eni, Shell , TotalEnergies , ExxonMobil , KazMunayGas <KMGZ.KZ, Inpex and CNPC . Libya's National Oil Corporation announced on Saturday the reopening of a gas well operated by Mellitah Oil and Gas Company, a joint venture with Italy's Eni, on its Sabratha Platform in the Mediterranean Sea.

EDISON , SNAM The Italian energy group, a unit of France's EDF, has started a process to sell its natural gas storage business, with an aim to raise between 600-800 million euros, daily Il Messaggero said on Saturday. The group has picked Credit Agricole as its advisor and an auction is expected to be launched soon, the report said, adding Italian gas grid operator Snam could be interested in the deal.
