(Adds Broadcom, Updates Brookfield Infrastructure, Emerson Electric and SiriusPoint) April 12 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 0800 PM GMT on Wednesday:



** The European Commission on Wednesday said U.S. chipmaker Broadcom's proposed $61 billion takeover of cloud computing company VMware could restrict competition in the market for certain hardware components.
** U.S. industrial conglomerate Emerson Electric Co on Wednesday agreed to buy National Instruments Corp for $8.2 billion, capping a nearly yearlong pursuit of the measurement equipment maker.
** Brookfield Infrastructure Corp will buy freight container lessor Triton International Ltd for about $4.7 billion, to capitalize on a boom in demand from customers looking to cut transportation delays.
** Billionaire investor Daniel Loeb is considering taking SiriusPoint Ltd private less than three years after he agreed to combine his hedge fund's reinsurance business, Third Point Re, with rival Sirius International Insurance Group to form the global specialty insurer.
** Russia's government has approved the sale of Shell's former 27.5% stake in the Sakhalin-2 energy project to Russian energy firm Novatek for 94.8 billion roubles ($1.16 billion), a government order showed.
** Australian retailer Wesfarmers Ltd said it has sold its remaining 2.8% stake in supermarket chain Coles Group .
** Newmont Corp's A$29.4 billion ($19.6 billion) offer for Australia's Newcrest Mining faces hurdles including winning approvals from shareholders and regulators, and the full backing of the target's board, analysts said.
** Ahli Bank in Oman said its board disapproved a merger offer from Oman's second-biggest lender Bank Dhofar .
** Veritas Capital ended talks with Carlyle Group Inc to buy a 50% stake in private healthcare technology firm Cotiviti Inc on valuation grounds, a source familiar with the matter said.
** Glencore Plc on Tuesday modified its $22.5 billion all-share takeover bid for Teck Resources Ltd's to include up to $8.2 billion in cash, but Teck's board called it "largely unchanged" and analysts said it will need to rise further still.
** Private jet service Flexjet Inc said on Tuesday it has terminated the planned merger with billionaire Todd Boehly's black-check firm Horizon Acquisition Corporation II .
** Carrefour Brasil , the local arm of French retail giant Carrefour , said on Tuesday it reached an agreement to reduce the price of its acquisition of Grupo Big by up to 1 billion reais ($199.7 million).
