STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 105.25 points, or 0.17%,
to 60,262.97, while the broader NSE index gained 44.05
points, or 0.25%, to 17,766.35, as March-quarter corporate
earnings trickled in, while caution ahead of key domestic and
global macroeconomic data capped gains. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.08% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 82.07 per dollar, as the dollar index
softened ahead of critical U.S. inflation data. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
Benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.29
rupees, with yield down 1 bps at 7.2157%; vs previous close of
7.2224%, as traders await inflation data. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was
unchanged at 6.57%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate fell 1 bps to 6.09%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was unchanged at
6.30% against 6.30% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS
rate was at 6.28%, compared with the previous
day's weighted average of 6.2842%.
