STOCKS:
The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 235.05 points, or 0.39%,
to 60,392.77, while the broader NSE index gained 90.1
points, or 0.51%, to 17,812.4, as March-quarter corporate
earnings trickled in. RUPEE:
The Indian rupee strengthened 0.06% versus the U.S.
dollar, and quoted at 82.0775 per dollar, as caution prevailed
prior to an inflation report that would influence the Federal
Reserve's next policy move. GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 100.30
rupees, with the yield down 1 bps at 7.2134%, ahead of March
inflation prints. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS:
The one-year overnight indexed swap rate was down
1 bps at 6.56%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate stayed fixed to 6.10%.
CALL MONEY/REPOS:
India's overnight call money rate was down 5 bps at
6.25%. The overnight TREPS rate was at 6.28%,
compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.2842%.
